REDCap (Research Electronic Data Capture) is a secure web application for building and managing online surveys and databases. While REDCap can be used to collect virtually any type of data, it is specifically geared to support online or offline data capture for medical and health care research.
REDCap was created in 2004 at Vanderbilt University. The program is offered at no cost to REDCap partner sites, including the University of Missouri, which can then customize the program to fit their unique research needs.
REDCap can be used in a variety of environments because it is in compliance with HIPAA, 21 CFR Part 11, FISMA (low, moderate, high), and international standards. Because each partner site has direct and total control over its system, REDCap is fully personalized to meet the partner’s security policies and user needs.
The Assessment Resource Center partners with a diverse range of academic and community-based stakeholders to build data management and project management systems in REDCap. We help develop tools like surveys, forms, and customized reports within these systems with an eye towards processes for data collection and use. Some of our partners are using the REDCap systems we built for grant-funded research and evaluation projects, as well as practical, day-to-day applications such as enrolling or registering patients/clients or collecting feedback from patients/clients for ongoing improvement.
You can hire us to manage your REDCap project from start-to-end or to provide support for targeted applications. We can also teach you to manage your own data collection, storage, and analysis after we’ve built the tools for you.
REDCap is a good tool for team use, allowing for various user roles and functions to maximize opportunities for team involvement and contribution while protecting project data. Customizable reporting in REDCap also helps our clients meet regular, ongoing reporting requirements for state and federal funders and agency partners.
We can help you maximize these and other REDCap utilities to support the success of your projects.
