- programs carefully designed to meet specific needs of clients and stakeholders;
- the support and encouragement of educational and scholarly activities;

- a commitment to service.
Through its Research and Evaluation Service, ARC provides complete management and

The ARC Assessment and Education Service offers management and coordination of
assessment design, test and item development, customized and standardized P-20

education, public policy, and business.
Background
ARC is an auxiliary unit within the College of Education of the University of
Missouri. For over 75 years, we have offered assistance on assessment and
research projects involving 100 to 500,000 individuals.
ARC employs 30 full-time staff, up to 200 part-time staff who score open-ended
assessments, and a number of regular outside consultants who assist on special
projects. ARC maintains cooperative relationships with other departments and
research centers within the University of Missouri system. Classroom teachers,
administrators, health-care providers, and others consult with ARC to address
curriculum and instruction needs, public health issues, and social service
planning and evaluation.
Customer service is of utmost importance to the ARC staff. We work as a team to
provide rapid and complete responses to customer inquiries, quick and accurate
scanning and scoring of assessment documents, and completion of complex research
projects. This website contains more detailed information on the
services we
offer, our resources, our clients, and descriptions of
current and past
projects.
